Birmingham Folk Festival
A special live recording of the 2026 Birmingham Folk Fest, held at the Avondale Park Amphitheater on May 16, 2026. Hosted by Nelson Graves, this series features performances from Astronauts of Albania, DJ Supreme, Shannon Slaughter, Wax Monkey, The Little Mercies, Jimmy Guitar Allen, and the Reminders Band.
The fifth episode takes a look back at the history of the Birmingham Folk Fest with Burgin Matthews, host of The Lost Child, featuring highlights and memories from previous years of the festival.

This hour features the local Birmingham Jazz Hall of Fame award winner Jimmy Guitar Allen and the Reminders Band playing a Jazz and Blues inspired set. -
The first half of episode 3 is a jam band improvisational performance by local Birmingham band Wax Monkey. The second half features the Tallahassee based 3 piece string band The Little Mercies.
