Colored powder filled the air at Veterans Park on Saturday. Crowds gathered to celebrate Holi, the Hindu festival of spring, usually identified by the throwing of colors.

The Islamic Academy of Alabama applied to rezone an office park space in Hoover to expand. The issue sparked anti-Islamic rhetoric, notably from U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville.
