On Being with Krista Tippett - Becoming Detroit
Tonight, Krista Tippett looks at a Detroit you probably haven't seen in the news. It's a city of vigor — a place where neighbors are reimagining work, food, and the very meaning of humanity. To meet these people is to gain perspective on all of our work, and how we might imagine possibility in our own backyard. Krista and her team travel to the Motor City to meet the civil rights legend Grace Lee Boggs. We find the 96-year-old philosopher surrounded by creative, joyful people and projects that defy more familiar images of decline. It's a kind of parallel urban universe with much to teach all of us about meeting the changes of our time.
**Note that On Being is normally a weekly program and that WBHM is airing archived episodes each night this week for The Radio Clinic.
On Being with Krista Tippett is coming to WBHM/WSGN every night this week at 8 p.m. followed by Tuxedo Junction presented in cooperation with Samford University’s WVSU 91.1 FM at 9.
Please give us your honest opinions on the new programs. What did you like? What did you not like? And, if you've got the time, tell us why, too. Once we've got the community's "diagnosis," it will help WBHM write a prescription for change!
