That's right - TWO NEW SHOWS!
We are pleased to announce that Public Radio WBHM 90.3 FM/WSGN 91.5 FM will add two new Saturday programs to its schedule beginning Oct. 6 – Conversations from the World Café at 7 p.m. and Jazz from 8 until midnight.
This programming change comes as a result of feedback we received from you our North Central Alabama listeners during WBHM’s summer Radio Clinic – a two-month sampling of a variety of programs featuring music, debate, talk, and entertainment. During June and July, we actively solicited your opinions about the temporary programming through social media, the Radio Clinic Blog, and a survey. And boy, were you happy to comply!
So in keeping with our motto “Listen and Be Heard,” the station will begin airing Conversations From the World Cafe and Jazz based on the options most liked by respondents that were also feasible in terms of availability, schedule, and budget. Conversations from the World Cafe, hosted by David Dye, is a weekly one-hour radio magazine that presents interviews with and performances by a variety of musicians while exploring issues and trends in contemporary music and culture. The Jazz hours will showcase classic recordings by many of the legends of American music and new music by emerging artists from all over the world, presented by hosts who know the music and the artists.
You listened. You spoke up. We heard. And we sincerely hope that you will continue listening, enjoying, and speaking out!
