Randall Turner -- a.k.a. R-Tist -- grew up around music. His Dad played guitar, piano and saxophone in a band, and his Mom was one of his biggest fans. R-Tist trained on the trumpet and has recently taken up the acoustic guitar. He became interested in hip-hop after purchasing a Tribe Called Quest album. He focuses his music on the original meaning of "rap" -- which stands for rhythm and poetry.
