Trees with Bells is a trio made up of singer/songwriter/guitarist Pete Szelenbaum, with vocals and drums provided by Tonya West, and cello and occasional back-up vocals contributed by Opal South. The three musicians began playing together in December of 2004, all having participated in various Birmingham bands in recent years. (Tonya in "Cassandra and Friends", "Sukimono", and "D. Mangioni; Pete the frontman of "Ferocious Bubbles" and in "Delicate Cutters"; Opal in "Escape Goat" and "Ferocious Bubbles") With their musical backgrounds ranging from folk-country to classical to straight rock and pop, Trees with Bells has evolved into a style that resonates as "ethereal pop."

Trees with Bells play November 23rd at the High Note Lounge.
