Kelli Johnson was raised on Southern gospel and bluegrass music. And the Pell City native has been performing that music for more than half her life. She's the lead singer for the group Distant Cousins - and has also made a name for herself as a solo singer-songwriter. She's been compared to Allison Krauss and Rhonda Vincent, but her mix of gospel, bluegrass, country and Southern rock is a sound all its own
Johnson has shared the stage with such acts as Claire Lynch, Thyrd Time Out, Valerie Smith and Liberty Pike, Wade Hayes , Ken Mellons, and Highway 101. She has recorded two CDs and a DVD with Distant Cousins.
