Eclectic, without sounding confused or unfocused, Birmingham's apsis borrow influence from rock, metal, gothic, sludge, hardcore and progressive and seam them together with a sound that is both current and nostalgic.

Spearheaded by the classically trained Guitar work of Nick Mitchell, who often straddles the blurred lines of many of today’s sub genres, and corner-stoned upon the powerful rhythm section of Steve Kirkpatrick (Drums) and Chad Lowery (Bass), apsis create sonic landscapes occupied by haunting vocals that are at times both soft and sorrowful as well as strong and full of rage.

They have released two EP's "Whispers Rust" and "Blood Hits the Bridle", and by the end of 2006 plan to complete their first full-length length CD.
