Q with Jian Ghomeshi - Questlove
Tonight on Q with Joan Ghomeshi, Montreal hip hop artist Yassin Alsalman, better known as The Narcicyst, just landed in Dubai to start his new arts label The Medium. He tells Jian about his move to the United Arab Emirates and why he thinks now is the time to nurture and export a new generation of Middle Eastern arts.
Then, alt soul and hip hop musician Questlove, frontman and drummer for The Roots, is known as a writer, music producer, and DJ in addition to being a musician. Now he's branching out into another creative area... food. He talks to Jian about his varied career, and his plans for a catering company and mobile food trucks.
Finally, American TV, stage and film actress Edie Falco has earned critical praise and industry awards for her remarkable roles in shows including "The Sopranos" and "Oz." She discuss her latest labour of love -- "Nurse Jackie" -- the tragic-com Showtime series in which she portrays a drug-abusing health care worker, a role all the more pertinent for Falco, who once struggled with addiction herself. She's just received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
And please help WBHM write a prescription for possible programming change by taking a short survey of this summer's Radio Clinic shows. And as always, you can still comment below or on Facebook and Twitter. And when you do, thanks!
