![]() "I can't remember when I started playing music. My parents tell me that when I was 3, I would play on our now broken organ," says Jason Bailey of his first recollections of music. His first instrument was a violin. "I accidentally broke it in high school and got an electric guitar to replace it." From electric to acoustic and finally to the mandolin in 1995 thanks to a $50 garage sale purchase, Jason discovered David Grisman and other mandolin greats. Music was it. That year, Jason began studying music at Maryville college in Tennessee where he met several other bluegrass enthusiasts. The following summer, Jason met Colin's classmates Jeremy and Kristian and began writing and playing with them on school breaks. Jason's main influences come from that of Bob Marley, David Grisman, Tony Rice and Stephane Grappelli. |
