Alastair Willis guest conducts the Alabama Symphony![]() ![]() Alastair Willis was the eighth of 12 guest conductors to lead the Alabama Symphony Orchestra this season. Mr. Willis conducted the Masterworks series Friday and Saturday night at the Alys Stephens Center. The program featured Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major played by American pianist William Wolfram, Verdi's Overture to "The Force of Destiny" and two works by Wagner, the Prelude and Liebestod from "Tristan and Isolde" and the Overture to "Rienzi" Mr. Willis spoke with WBHM's program director Michael Krall.
