The Blue Galaxy String Project

The Blue Galaxy String Project is an instrumental pop group formed in 2003 that plays an eclectic mix of originals and arrangements for string quartet plus acoustic bass and drums. Members are all classically trained, musically literate musicians, who just happen to share a passion for modern music in the vernacular. Arrangements come from songs from groups such as Radiohead, Flaming Lips, The Police, New Pornographers, and Talking Heads.

The personnel are Susan Nuckols, Niamh Clarke violin, Melanie Rogers viola, Clay McKinney cello, Abraham Becker bass and arranger, Michael Glaser drums. The group performs around the southeast and has been featured on the public radio quiz show Says You!
