Simone Durand first picked up a guitar 15 years ago, and has performed as a singer-songwriter for the past 10 years. Professional endeavors lead her from her home in St. Martinville, Louisiana, to Mobile to Hattiesburg and finally, to Birmingham.

Her songs document those experiences and transitions, packaged in way that she hopes is relatable and curious. She has been compared to Tracy Chapman and Rickie Lee Jones, but she prefers the styles of DMB or Ani DiFranco. Playing music, whether solo or with a band, has been a constant theme and compass. Her latest CD is titles More to Miss.
