Moses Mayfield frontman Matthew Mayfield was signed by Epic Records in 2005. But when Columbia Records took over in 2006, even the release of their album couldn't stop them from becoming a business casualty of the label.

After six years of national touring and heavy lessons-learned, Matthew offers his most honest, dedicated songs yet in solo performance. "My heart is in it," the songwriter says. "there are no more fingers to point. If something's wrong, there's only once place to look." With his latest release, The Fire EP, Mayfield delivers a raw, stripped, and soulful sound.
