Chad Fisher is a man in motion. He's toured with legends like the O'Jays and the Temptations and shared the stage with Wynton Marsalis. When he's back home in Birmingham Fisher fronts the Chad Fisher Group - which is about to release a new CD called Strange Waters. It marks a departure for the group, whose first two CDs were more straight ahead jazz. This new project is more studio-based and includes tunes that span several genres. Chad Fisher previews some of the music with WBHM's Hunter Bell. The Chad Fisher Group's forthcoming CD is "Strange Waters".

Birmingham musician Michael Warren normally blends R & B, rock, pop and funk, but he says for his new CD, called "Race to Beat the Sun", he wanted to mellow out a bit. This is the title track. Warren stopped by our studio to talk about it...(AUDIO MONTAGE). Tapestry is produced by Tanya Ott, Michael Krall and Hunter Bell. Islara Vazquez tracks community events. We had additional reporting this week from Lissa LeGrand. Next week on Tapestry we explore the economic impact of the arts. I'm Greg Bass, and we'll see you next week. |
