An Evening with Roy Blount, Jr.
Join us Tuesday, November 18 at 6:30 at the Doubletree Inn for an evening with Roy Blount, Jr. Roy will talk about and sign copies of his new book, Alphabet Juice. The Doubletree is located at the corner of University Boulevard and 20th Street South Subtitled "The Energies, Gists, and Spirits of Letters, Words, and Combinations Thereof; Their Roots, Bones, Innards, Piths, Pips, and Secret Parts, ... With Examples of Their Usage Foul and Savory", in his latest effort, Blount demonstrates his love of words and his great knowledge of words' meanings, origins and all kinds of other fun word facts. This book is a delight for all who love language, and of course those who love Roy Blount, Jr.'s unique Southern voice. Roy Blount Jr. is the author of twenty other books, most recently Long Time Leaving: Dispatches from Upsouth. He is a columnist for Oxford American, a contributing editor to The Atlantic Monthly, and president of the Authors Guild. Of course, WBHM listeners know him best as a panelist on Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!
