WBHM's New Lineup

90.3 WBHM-Birmingham and 91.5 WSGN-Gadsden announce new program schedules. Changes include the addition of four new programs. In addition, listeners will now enjoy opera broadcasts year-round. To accommodate these changes, some programs will be aired at new times and two programs have been removed from the schedule.

For the first time, listeners in Birmingham and North Central Alabama will hear the popular programs Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!, The Next Big Thing, On the Media, Studio 360 and World of Opera.

"These are all excellent additions to our schedule and will no doubt strengthen our programming and public service," said Program Director Michael Krall.

Beginning Wednesday, July 7, WBHM will begin year-round opera broadcasts with the addition of World of Opera at 7 p.m.

Sunday Baroque, now heard at 8 a.m. Sunday, will be discontinued. In addition, The Metropolitan Opera, now heard Saturday afternoons when in season, will also be discontinued.

"We're pleased to be able to provide year-round broadcasts of complete opera productions performed by professional companies with renowned soloists," said General Manager Mike Morgan. This is a solid weeknight addition to our schedule in keeping with our public service mission."
