Mike Tomberlin has been covering real estate in the Birmingham area for more than 15 years, the last 10 at The Birmingham News. There was a one-year break where he served with the Alabama Army National Guard in Afghanistan. As the commercial real estate and economic development reporter, Mike's stories can be found on the front page and the Money page on an almost daily basis with articles relating to projects and deals. Mike graduated from the University of Alabama with journalism degree in 1992. He is originally from Covington County in south Alabama.

Norman Berk is the owner and founder of Professional Asset Strategies LLC, a fee-only financial planning and asset management firm and specializes in offering retirement and college fund planning services to individuals and businesses. He is a certified financial planner, a Registered Investment Advisor, a Certified Public Accountant and an attorney, the only fee-only financial planner in the state of Alabama to hold all four designations.
