Mary Hendley
Mary Hendley is WBHHM's development director and assistant general manager. She oversees fundraising for the station, including membership, special events and major gifts. Mary is originally from Pittsburgh, home to three public radio stations, and she was a member of each. She met her husband, Steve, a Nashville transplant going to graduate school in the Steel City, while completing her master's in information science. Little did she know that Steve was secretly a rabid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and she was destined to spend every Sunday cooking brunches or dinners for family and friends while watching the Steelers on The Sunday Ticket (ask her about the satellite dish on the van caper). Mary and Steve have lived in Birmingham for more than 20 years, where she worked for several non-profits before finding her calling in public radio. Mary and Steve have a menagerie that includes their two daughters (Johanna and Sarah), a dog, a cat and a turtle.
