EEO Public Filings and Diversity Statement

WBHM is owned and operated by the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). As a unit of UAB, WBHM is committed to diversity and an inclusive campus. At UAB, diversity is the full range of human difference and potential that manifests itself in individual members of the campus community. Included in this range are many differences – race, gender, ethnicity, age, culture, national origin, religious belief, physical ability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic class, lifestyle preference, political conviction and many other differences. Such campus diversity enriches the educational experience for students and contributes to a high quality intellectual and cultural educational environment for all members of the UAB community.

As noted in the EEO Public File Reports (below), WBHM engages in a number of varied outreach activities each year to create awareness, opportunity, and training to a broad and diverse community. This includes:

  • Job Fairs
  • Internships
  • Job Shadowing
  • Mentoring
  • Staff Training on Diversity
