Mary Hendley

Mary is the Development Director and Assistant General Manager for WBHM. She oversees fundraising for the station, including underwriting, membership, and major gifts.

Mary is originally from Pittsburgh, where she met her husband, Steve, a Nashville transplant going to graduate school in the Steel City. Little did she know that he was secretly a rabid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and she was destined to spend her summer vacations attending training camps and her winters either traveling to games or watching them on The Sunday Ticket (ask her about the satellite dish on the van caper).

Mary and Steve have lived in Birmingham for over 19 years, where she worked for several non-profits before finding her calling in public radio. Her kids, Johanna (age 16 - she's on the road - look out!) and Sarah (14) are now much more impressed with her, and have even grown to like some of the programming! (OK, not really, but we keep hoping.)

Mary and Steve have a menagerie that includes their 2 daughters, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a turtle.
